The short version: we collect only what the waitlist form asks for (your email and, optionally, your child's age), we use it only to contact you about Attenious, we never use cameras or microphones, we never track children, we never advertise, and we never sell data. You can ask us to delete everything at any time.
1. Who we are
Attenious (“we”, “us”) is an attention and focus skill-development product for children aged 4 to 10, built and operated by Team Attenious, India. You can reach us anytime at info@attenious.in. This policy explains what personal data we handle, why, and the choices you have. We have written it in plain language on purpose — a privacy policy you cannot understand is a promise you cannot check.
2. Scope of this policy
This policy covers this website (including the waitlist form and the trial puzzles) and, when it launches, the Attenious mobile app. It does not apply to services we do not operate — for example, if you click a link to a third-party website, their policies apply, not ours.
3. What we collect today, on this website
When you join the waitlist we store:
- Your email address — so we can write to you at launch. This is the only required field.
- Your child's age (optional) — only if you choose to share it, so early access can be calibrated by age.
- The date you signed up — recorded automatically, to preserve your place in line.
Nothing else. There is no account creation, no password, no profile, and no cookies for advertising or analytics on this site.
4. What the trial puzzles do
The puzzle trial on this website runs entirely in your own browser. Your answers, timing and the analysis shown afterwards are computed on your device and are never transmitted to us or stored on any server. Closing the tab erases them completely. There is no “invisible” transmission — you can verify this yourself with your browser's developer tools.
5. What we will collect in the app (after launch)
Attenious is a skill-development game, so the app needs some information to do its job. When the app launches we will store:
- Your account details — your email address and family profile, created by you.
- Your child's in-game performance — puzzle levels attempted, answers given, difficulty adjustments and play duration, so the game can adapt and reports can be generated.
- Your check-in answers — the observations you volunteer during the short parent check-ins, two or three times a week.
- Basic technical data — such as app version and crash reports, to keep the service working.
Everything about your child that we store is information generated while playing our own game, or information you deliberately typed in. We do not buy data from anyone, and we do not merge in data from anywhere else.
6. What we never collect
Some things we will simply never do, in any version of the product:
- We never access the camera or microphone — not in any mode, not for any feature, not “temporarily”.
- We never run background tracking, screen surveillance or location monitoring of your child or their device.
- We never use advertising or cross-app trackers of any kind, and we never sell, rent or share personal data with advertisers or data brokers.
- We never use psychological profiling to keep children playing longer than is healthy. Attenious is designed as a short daily habit — around ten minutes — and the app will tell your child when the session is done.
7. How we use your data
- To contact waitlist members about launch, early access and founding-family pricing.
- To adapt puzzle difficulty to your child's actual performance.
- To generate your weekly PDF progress report and personalised suggestions.
- To provide support when you contact us.
- To keep the service working, secure and lawful.
We do not use your data for any other purpose. We do not use it to train advertising models, and we do not create advertising profiles of children or parents. Period.
8. Legal basis and consent
We handle personal data under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India) and, where applicable, similar laws elsewhere. In practice:
- Waitlist data is processed on the basis of your consent, given when you submit the form. You may withdraw it anytime by writing to us.
- A child's data is processed only with the consent of, and under the supervision of, a verified parent or legal guardian. No child may create an account by themselves.
- Withdrawal is easy — a single email to info@attenious.in is enough. You do not need to explain why.
9. Children's privacy and parental control
Attenious is designed for children aged 4 to 10, and it is built for the protections Indian law gives children's data (Section 9 of the DPDP Act, 2023). In practice this means:
- All data about a child is provided and controlled by the parent, with the parent's consent.
- We do not undertake tracking, behavioural monitoring or targeted advertising directed at children.
- We do not process children's data in any manner likely to cause a detrimental effect on their well-being.
- Parents can access, correct or delete their child's data at any time by writing to us.
10. Who we share data with
We keep our dependencies deliberately tiny. Today: Supabase Inc. (our database provider, storing data in the Mumbai region, India) and, when we launch, an email delivery provider to send you the reports and launch updates you asked for. These providers act only on our instructions and cannot use your data for their own purposes.
We may also disclose information if compelled by a valid legal order from a competent Indian authority — and we would tell you where the law allows us to. Otherwise: no sharing. Not with partners, not with advertisers, not with anyone.
11. Where your data lives and how it is protected
Waitlist signups and app data are stored on infrastructure in the Mumbai region, India. We apply strict technical controls: public visitors to this site can add a waitlist entry but can never read, export or modify anyone else's; the database blocks anonymous reading by design; data travels encrypted; and access to the data itself is limited to the small core team, protected by multi-factor authentication.
12. Data retention and deletion
Waitlist emails are kept only until we have communicated our launch (and any early-access offer), after which you can ask us to remove you — or simply ignore the launch email and never hear from us again. In the app, parents can delete their family's data in one tap from settings, and we will erase it from our active systems within thirty days. Where the law requires us to keep records (for example, of your consent), we keep the minimum, for only as long as required.
13. Your rights
You can ask us, at any time, to:
- show you what we hold about you or your child;
- correct anything that is wrong;
- erase everything, partially or completely;
- withdraw your consent and stop all contact;
- nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf, as the law allows.
Email info@attenious.in and we will act on genuine requests promptly — we are small, so “promptly” usually means days, not months. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you also have the right to escalate to the Data Protection Board of India or your local data protection authority.
14. Cookies and analytics
This website sets no cookies of its own and loads no third-party analytics, advertising or social-media scripts. The app will similarly avoid advertising SDKs. If we ever need privacy-friendly, aggregate-only measurement, we will say so here first — and it will never involve identifying you or your child across other apps or websites.
15. Data transfers outside India
Your data is stored in India. We do not currently transfer personal data outside India. If the product ever needs to (for example, a future feature provider without an Indian region), we will do so only in compliance with the DPDP Act, 2023, and we will update this section and notify you before it happens.
16. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy materially before or after launch, we will notify waitlist members by email and update the “Last updated” date above. Changes will never apply retroactively to how your data was handled before them.
17. Contact and grievance officer
Questions, requests, complaints or concerns: info@attenious.in. We are a small team and we read everything. If you write to us with a data-related grievance, we will acknowledge it and respond substantively — and if we got something wrong, we will say so and fix it.
A note on honesty: this policy describes a product built to respect families. If Attenious ever grows in a way that would change these promises, the change will be visible here first.
